Improving lives through better hearing.

Services

Oticon-Quest Karnataka Regional Centre provides a range of services including hearing tests, hearing aid selection and fitting, counseling, maintenance, and repairs. These services are crucial for ensuring individuals with hearing loss receive the appropriate devices and support to improve their hearing and quality of life.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Hearing Evaluations and Assessments:

  • Comprehensive Hearing Tests:

Audiologists conduct thorough assessments to determine the type and degree of hearing loss. This may involve pure-tone testing, speech testing, and other specialized evaluations.

  • Tinnitus Evaluation:

If the individual experiences tinnitus (ringing in the ears), the audiologist can assess the characteristics of the tinnitus and recommend appropriate management strategies.

2. Hearing Aid Selection and Fitting:

  • Hearing Aid Styles:

Audiologists guide patients through the various hearing aid styles (e.g., behind-the-ear, in-the-ear, receiver-in-canal, etc.) and features (e.g., Bluetooth connectivity, noise reduction, directional microphones) to find the best fit for their needs and preferences.

  • Hearing Aid Fitting:

The audiologist customizes the hearing aid settings to match the individual's hearing loss, ensuring optimal sound amplification and clarity.

3. Counseling and Education:

  • Hearing Aid Orientation:

Patients receive detailed instructions on how to insert, remove, clean, and care for their hearing aids.

  • Communication Strategies:

Audiologists provide guidance on effective communication strategies to enhance understanding in various listening situations.

  • Lifestyle Considerations:

They discuss how hearing loss impacts daily life and offer personalized advice on managing hearing challenges.

4. Follow-Up and Maintenance:

  • Regular Check-ups: Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor hearing aid performance, address any concerns, and make necessary adjustments.

  • Cleaning and Repairs: Audiologists provide cleaning and maintenance services, including minor repairs, to ensure optimal hearing aid function.

  • Battery Replacement: They offer battery replacement and guidance on battery usage and care.

5. Advanced Services:

  • Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs):

Audiologists may recommend and fit ALDs, such as amplified telephones, television listening systems, or alerting devices, to further enhance communication and improve quality of life.

  • Tinnitus Management:

For individuals with tinnitus, audiologists can offer a range of management strategies, including sound therapy, counseling, and hearing aids with tinnitus masking features.

  • Custom Earmolds:

Audiologists can create custom earmolds for hearing protection, swim plugs, or molds for use with certain types of hearing aids.

  • Referral Services:

If a patient requires specialized medical or surgical care for their hearing loss, the audiologist can refer them to an otolaryngologist (ENT doctor) or other relevant specialist
